Liz is a licensed counselor that specializes in supporting new mothers with perinatal mood disorders. This can include pregnancy, postpartum, and struggles with the early years of parenting. While the adjustment to motherhood is a joyful time, it can also feel overwhelming and challenging. Liz  utilizes cognitive therapy to help clients challenge negative thinking patterns and help build confidence.

Liz’s counseling experience includes over 10 years of serving both child and adult survivors of domestic violence. Liz specializes in helping clients with a history of trauma explore how to break the cycle and set healthy patterns for their new families. Counseling can help to explore the dynamics behind trauma in order to reduce self blame and work on healing.

As a mother to two small children Liz recognizes the struggle finding time for self care. So much of our attention is focused on the needs of our children. However, if we don't care for ourselves it can be harder to be present for our little ones. Counseling can provide a safe space to feel heard and establish healthy coping skills. Do yourself a favor and consider making the time to work on your healing through therapy.
