It Takes A Village
The joys and challenges of motherhood can be overwhelming and exhausting and can leave us feeling lost and isolated in our new world. This group is a chance to discuss some of these experiences in a friendly, supportive environment, full of people who are going through the same ups and downs and adjustments as you. Come to feel supported, build friendships, and share with each other the tools we've learned to manage motherhood.
Lap babies welcome.

Providing friendship and support through the sharing of our birth experiences. Unlike in film and TV, the birth experience can be an extremely difficult process for some. Our experience may be far from what we had planned, and often we may be traumatized by it, but through the shared wisdom of peers who have experienced similar difficult birth events we can begin to find ways to heal ourselves.

Oakland County Breastfeeding Coalition - Meet Nurse Love
The Oakland County Breastfeeding Coalition is a local grassroots organization founded under the Michigan Breastfeeding Network (MIBFN), whose mission is to optimize state and community support of breastfeeding by leading collaborative actions for advocacy, education and coalition building. The local coalition shares the same vision as MIBFN; that our state and local communities recognize breastfeeding and human milk as the norm for infant and young child feeding, and that all families will live, work and receive support in a breastfeeding-friendly culture.
The Coalition's signature program, MeetNurseLove, was founded in 2014 in order to provide a safe and welcoming environment for breastfeeding families to gather, grow and learn together. We encourage the entire family including, but not limited to, fathers, partners, grandparents, and siblings, to participate in our meetings. We believe that moms and moms-to-be will find success on their breastfeeding journeys when they feel supported and have access to resources when they need it most. MeetNurseLove has grown to be a family of its own. We will meet from 6pm - 7pm on the second Monday of each month.
